At Illuminara, our focus is helping people to understand, accept, and love themselves, and be able to accept, forgive, and have healthy, balanced relationships with others. When we feel good, we have mental clarity and are better able to manage our stress. When we have the freedom to be ourselves, we are more relaxed; we feel calm, patient, and joyful. Clients are equipped with tools to both manage the body’s response to stress, and improve health by activating the body’s natural self-healing mechanisms.

Master Teacher and Holistic Practitioner Kirby Criddle seeks to achieve these results using a variety of therapeutic modalities she has been trained and certified in, over the past 11 years. A session typically includes a combination of therapeutic modalities, and lasts approximately 60-90 minutes.

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a healing system of Eastern medicine developed in China more than 2,000 years ago, incorporating therapies that are in some cases millennia older. In addition to treating illness, TCM focuses on strengthening the body’s defenses and enhancing its capacity for healing and to maintain health.
TCM encompasses how the human body interacts with all aspects of life and the environment, including the seasons, weather, time of day, our diet and emotional states. It sees the key to health as the harmonious and balanced functioning of body, mind and spirit, and holds that the balance of health depends on the unobstructed flow of qi (pronounced chee) or “life energy” through the body, along pathways known as meridians. Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners see disease as the result of disruptions in the circulation of qi.

What is Holistic Nutrition?
Mainstream medicine does not emphasize the significance of poor nutrition as a major cause of a wide range of health disorders. Although most people are aware of the benefits of sound nutrition, the range of conflicting information available to the consumer is often confusing. Holistic nutritionists guide their clients through the maze of information from books, magazines, supplements and diets on the market. They work with clients to identify and help correct the nutritional causes of diseases, and they are qualified to design personalized diet and lifestyle programs that optimize health.
